A 29-year-old man and his 23-year-old wife have been charged with murdering and dismembering the man's mother in Danderyd on June 13 last year. According to the prosecutor, they planned to use the mother's money to hire a hitman against the man's father. The motive appears to be hatred and money.
The 29-year-old man and his 23-year-old wife are charged with the murder of his mother in Danderyd on June 13 last year, grave desecration, and incitement to murder the 29-year-old's father. According to the prosecutor, the woman was subjected to extensive knife violence, suffocated with a pillow, and received additional injuries after death. The head and other body parts were sawn off, and the remains were burned on the parquet floor in the bedroom.
The motive includes the 29-year-old's perceived childhood traumas and deep hatred from the wife, directed at the mother after learning of the husband's infidelity. Money also plays a role: the 29-year-old believed he would inherit his mother's company and funds managed by a financial guardian. In interrogation, the wife states: “I came to Sweden on May 16. Before we married in March, he told me that when he kills her, he will get the company, he will take over the company.” The money was to be used in part to murder the father.
The wife claims the husband carried out the deadly violence after inviting the mother to the apartment. Earlier that year, the wife is accused of attempting to kill the mother by offering a smoothie spiked with crushed benzodiazepines. A month before the act, she messaged the husband: “I hate her and want her to die.” The husband blames the wife for the knife violence, but DNA evidence, seized murder weapons, and surveillance footage link both to the crime.
The 29-year-old reported his mother missing on June 18. Police suspected him quickly. On June 25, he was observed acting nervously outside the entrance, and the couple was arrested during a house search later that day. The next day, the remains were found in a bag at Nora Träsk using a drone.
