The cyber heist thriller LifeHack, which premiered at SXSW in 2025, has been acquired for North American distribution and is set for a wide U.S. release on May 15. Directed by Ronan Corrigan, the film boasts a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and features a cast including Georgie Farmer and Yasmin Finney. Producers Timur Bekmambetov and executive producer Michael Fassbender highlight its fresh take on youth and digital crime.
LifeHack, a cyber heist thriller inspired by true events, follows Kyle and his crew of digital Robin Hoods as they hack scammers from their bedrooms. Their biggest target—a notorious crypto billionaire—forces them into a real-world confrontation with payback.
The film marks the directorial debut of Irish filmmaker Ronan Corrigan, who co-wrote the script with Hope Elliott Kemp. It was produced by Timur Bekmambetov—known for Unfriended, Searching, and Missing—alongside Joann Kushner, Sasha Kletsov, and Bazelevs, with Screenlife Liverpool as a production company. Michael Fassbender serves as executive producer through DMC Film with partners Daniel Emmerson and Conor McCaughan.
Starring Georgie Farmer from Wednesday, Yasmin Finney from Heartstopper, Roman Hayeck-Green from Sex Education, content creator James Scholz, and Jessica Reynolds from Kneecap and Outlander, LifeHack premiered at SXSW in 2025, earning critical praise and a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It received nominations for two British Independent Film Awards.
Variety described it as “a genuinely funny and ultimately heart-pounding production” that “finds deft balance between its heist elements and its quiet moments of character. All of these prove immensely entertaining. With a techno soundtrack that keeps things propulsive, the movie never slows down, even when it takes a breather.”
North American rights were acquired by Triple Media Film, known for the theatrical re-release of Dogma, in partnership with Iconic Events Releasing. International sales are handled by Highland Film Group.
Fassbender commented, “Ronan is a special filmmaker and did an amazing job with ‘LifeHack.’ We’re very proud to be a part of it at DMC and to continue our work supporting emerging Irish and British talent.”
Corrigan added, “This film was a love letter to my teenage years growing up gaming, and to all the insane true crime stories that have come out of these online spaces. Making this film was the equivalent of pulling off a heist with the small, scrappy crew we had. I’m beyond excited for it to be hitting theatres!”
Bekmambetov noted, “Most movies miss the mark on what it’s like to be young today, but this one nails it. It was made by an incredibly talented cast and crew, all in their twenties, and you can feel that raw, unfiltered energy in every frame.”
Mark Rupp, CFO/COO and Co-Founder of Iconic Events Releasing, said, “‘LifeHack’ feels incredibly current. It’s a smart, high-stakes thriller that will connect with today’s audiences. We’re excited to bring it to theatres nationwide this May.”
