Itamaraty confirms death of two Brazilians in Venezuela earthquakes

Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that two Brazilian citizens died due to the earthquakes that struck Venezuela on Wednesday night.

Itamaraty stated that it is providing consular assistance to the families of the victims, a man and a woman, but did not release personal data on the deceased.

The magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 tremors occurred with epicenters in Yaracuy state. Venezuelan authorities reported 188 deaths and more than 1,500 injured.

Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed sorrow over the loss and confirmed that international rescue teams are on the way to Venezuela.
