The New York Knicks have signed free agent Andre Drummond to a one-year, $3.9 million contract. The move comes after Mitchell Robinson departed for the Boston Celtics.
The Knicks completed the signing on Friday, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Drummond, entering his 15th NBA season, spent the previous two years with the Philadelphia 76ers.
New York sought veteran experience and rebounding production to replace Robinson. Drummond posted a 20.2 percent rebound rate last season, second only to Robinson's 21.4 percent.
Drummond holds the NBA's all-time best career rebound rate at 25 percent. The one-year pact saves the Knicks roughly $44 million compared with Robinson's reported deal with Boston.
