Drummond erzielte in der vergangenen Saison eine Rebound-Quote von 20,2 Prozent und lag damit nur knapp hinter Robinsons 21,4 Prozent. Drummond hält die beste Rebound-Quote der NBA-Geschichte mit 25 Prozent. Der Einjahresvertrag spart den Knicks im Vergleich zu dem kolportierten Vertrag von Robinson in Boston rund 44 Millionen Dollar.
