ドブレフはグウェン役を、ウェズレイはスコット役を演じる。二人のキャラクターは捜査を巡って対立する立場となり、物語は衝突へと向かっていく。
本作の脚本はブライアン・タネンが担当し、トンプソン、ドブレフ、アレックス・クーパー、アーロン・カプラン、マット・カプラン、ミナ・ルフェーヴルとともに製作総指揮を務める。
ドブレフとウェズレイは、2009年から2015年まで放送された『ヴァンパイア・ダイアリーズ』で6シーズンにわたり共演した。
