The Sexual Integrity Crimes Prosecutor's Office charged Pablo Laurta with possession of child sexual abuse images found on his cell phone. The Uruguayan citizen has been detained since October 2025 for the double femicide of his ex-partner and her mother in Córdoba, and the homicide of a remisero in Entre Ríos. This new accusation worsens his legal situation.
Pablo Laurta, a 37-year-old Uruguayan citizen and founder of the group Varones Unidos, faces a new charge in his triple homicide case. Prosecutor Juan Ávila Echenique, from the 1st Shift Sexual Integrity Crimes Prosecutor's Office in Córdoba, accused him of "possession of representations of minors under 18 engaged in explicit sexual activities" and images of his genital areas "for predominantly sexual purposes". These images were detected in technical examinations of his cell phone, seized during his arrest in Entre Ríos.
Laurta has been detained since October 7, 2025, when he was attributed the homicide of remisero Martín Palacio in Entre Ríos. According to the investigation, Laurta hired Palacio for a trip to Rafaela, Santa Fe, but shot him in the head, dismembered his body, and distributed it in garbage bags in areas of Colonia Yeruá and near Rosario del Tala. With the victim's Toyota Corolla, he headed to Córdoba, where he set the vehicle on fire and then shot his ex-partner Luna Giardina, 26, and her mother Mariel Zamudio, 54, in Villa Serrana neighborhood. He fled with his six-year-old son, triggering Alerta Sofía, which led to his capture in a Gualeguaychú hotel with a Bersa .380 caliber pistol, ammunition, and Palacio's documents.
In Córdoba, he faces charges of "aggravated homicide by kinship, treachery, and gender violence" against Giardina and "aggravated homicide by treachery" against Zamudio. In Entre Ríos, for "homicide criminis causa". Previously, Giardina had denounced him for harassment, but he obtained release after a favorable psychological report and returned to Uruguay. During transfers, Laurta justified the crimes by saying he did it "to save his son" and claimed: "The kidnappings and abuses against my son were not investigated; I want the truth to be known". However, no evidence of child trafficking was found.
Currently, Laurta is serving preventive detention in Unidad Penal 3 de Concordia, extended due to the new charge. He was initially in maximum security at Cruz del Eje, Córdoba. The Córdoba Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed the measure, stating that further evidence remains to be produced.
