Parallax Equestrian destroyed by fire but vows to continue

A major fire on 12 March destroyed all buildings and stock at Nottinghamshire-based Parallax Equestrian, though no one was injured. The company reports overwhelming community support and plans to relocate as part of an ongoing strategy. Manufacturing continues at a separate site.

Parallax Equestrian, a manufacturer of equestrian products based in Gunthorpe, Nottinghamshire, suffered a devastating fire on 12 March that wiped out its warehouse, all buildings, and entire stock. Ten appliances from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene on Thursday, but fortunately no injuries occurred, for which the team expressed enormous gratitude. Manufacturing operations, located at a different site, remain unaffected, allowing the business to continue producing nearly all of its product range, including the Hay Play feed ball, HaySaver Feeder, Hay Nest, NIMBRUSH grooming brushes, and ECO Polo Boards. A company spokesperson stated: “The business is still producing, almost all of the product range can be replaced and business continues as usual.” The fire accelerated pre-existing relocation plans, which the team now views as “the start of an exciting new chapter.” Director Anna Gardner highlighted the supportive response: “There is nothing quite like a moment like this to make you realise the wonderful community and friendships we have built through this business over the years. The support we have received has been truly overwhelming, and we are so grateful. We are shocked by what has happened, but we know it could have been far worse — and we are moving forward with real positivity. This is a fresh start. Onwards and upwards!” In an earlier update, the small business noted the challenges ahead, focusing on damage assessment and requesting patience from customers. Those with orders were directed to email jude@parallaxplastics.co.uk.
