President of Indonesia General (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto will hold a silaturahmi with leaders of Islamic mass organizations and pesantren at Istana Negara, Central Jakarta, at 2:00 PM WIB on Tuesday (February 3, 2026). The main agenda of the meeting is to discuss the Board of Peace, a peace organization initiated by United States President Donald John Trump. The Indonesian government has decided to join the council, although this decision has sparked controversy among Islamic organizations, particularly the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), regarding a fee of Rp 16.7 trillion.
The invitation was confirmed by MUI Deputy General Chairman Buya Anwar Abbas, who stated, "It's true there is (an invitation from the Palace)" on Tuesday morning. From the government side, attendees include State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Inf. Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Religious Affairs Prof. Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Agrarian Affairs/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid, Presidential Special Advisor on Hajj Prof. Muhadjir Effendy, and MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani.
The invited leaders from ormas and pesantren total 37 figures, including KH Miftachul Akhyar (Rais 'Aam PBNU), Prof. Dr. H. Haedar Nashir (Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah), Dr. KH. Yahya Cholil Staquf (Chairman of PBNU), KH Anwar Iskandar (Central MUI Chairman), and various pesantren leaders such as KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz (Tebuireng Pesantren, Jombang) and Prof. Quraish Shihab as a religious figure. The meeting is expected to bridge views on Indonesia's membership in the Board of Peace, which aims to promote global peace.
