中東情勢の不透明感と米インフレを受け韓国ウォンが下落

中東情勢の不透明感が続く中、予想を上回る米国のインフレ統計を受け、水曜日の韓国ウォンは対ドルで急落した。

ウォンは前日比3.9ウォン安の1ドル=1,493.8ウォンで取引を開始した。火曜日には17.5ウォン急落し、4月4日以来の安値となる1,489.9ウォンを記録していた。

米国の消費者物価は4月に2カ月連続で急上昇し、過去3年近くで最大の年間インフレ率を記録した。これにより、米連邦準備制度理事会(FRB)が金利を据え置くとの見通しが強まった。

ワシントンとテヘラン間の協議が進展しないことで中東の緊張は高止まりしており、ウェスト・テキサス・インターミディエイト(WTI)原油先物は1バレル=102ドルを上回った。原油価格の上昇は、エネルギーを輸入に依存する韓国においてドル需要を押し上げている。

水曜午前9時30分時点の韓国総合株価指数(KOSPI)は、外国人投資家による大幅な売り越しに押され、2.46%下落の7,447.17となった。
