Taxi Imperial calls for end to blockades at El Dorado airport

Taxi Imperial has asked its drivers to lift blockades and protests at Bogotá's El Dorado Airport following recent demonstrations. The company announced measures including a change in operational manager and limits on special transport vehicles. It invited drivers to a working table to improve service efficiency.

Taxi Imperial issued a statement responding to taxi drivers' protests at El Dorado Airport, where Undmo had to intervene. Drivers claimed the administration favored special transport vehicles, such as white vans, reducing their work opportunities and incomes, with some waiting up to six hours for services.

Among the announced measures, the company confirmed the departure of operational manager Julio Jiménez, a key demand of the protesters, and appointed John Jairo Caro as his replacement.

On competition concerns, Taxi Imperial stated that the fleet of special public service vehicles, under contract with OPAIN, will not exceed 10% of individual taxi vehicles. It will also withdraw promoter staff from special and individual public transport services.

The company urged drivers and owners to lift the blockades and invited them to a working table to establish the most efficient way to optimize service delivery at the airport.
