A teenager in his late teens has been sentenced by Falu district court to 100 hours of youth service following a serious A-tractor crash in August 2025.
The crash occurred on the E16 at Norr Amsberg outside Borlänge. The vehicle was driven at a minimum of 150 kilometres per hour, far above the permitted speed of 30 kilometres per hour, before leaving the road in a curve and catching fire.
The driver and one passenger rescued the third person from the vehicle. The injured passenger sustained severe burns and life-threatening injuries.
The teenager was convicted of gross causing of bodily injury, gross carelessness in traffic and gross unlicensed driving. He must pay 110 000 kronor in damages to the two passengers. The parents were acquitted of criminal suspicions but must each pay around 6 000 kronor in compensation for violation.
The verdict can be appealed to the Svea Court of Appeal until 12 June.
