Trial in Paris of school animator accused of sexual assaults

A 47-year-old school animator, Nicolas G., appeared in court on Tuesday before the Paris correctional tribunal for sexual harassment of nine girls and sexual assaults on three of them. The incidents date back to 2024 at Titon primary school in the 11th arrondissement. Parents expressed emotion and anger during the hearing.

On Tuesday afternoon, Nicolas G., 47, a school animator at Titon primary school in Paris's 11th arrondissement, appeared at the Paris judicial court. Wearing a black windbreaker, hood up and surgical mask, he faces charges of «sexual harassment» against nine girls and «sexual assaults» on three of them. The victims, CM2 pupils in 2024, reported the incidents to the school principal.

Despite being known as the «children's favorite animator», according to Me Julie Chalumeau, lawyer for five families, the municipal agent faces these serious accusations. Parents, greeted by numerous journalists, expressed relief at the trial's opening.

Pénélope, a mother, stated on behalf of the group: «We are very relieved about this trial. This hearing would never have been possible without the courage of the girls who found the strength to denounce this man.»
