이번 대회는 8일 동안 진행되며, 총 1,627km 거리를 달리는 8개 구간으로 구성된다.
대회 경로는 칭하이성 시닝시, 하이둥시, 하이난 티베트족 자치주, 하이베이 티베트족 자치주를 통과한다.
전 세계 12개국에서 총 22개 팀, 154명의 선수가 이번 대회에 참가 신청을 마쳤다.
