今大会は8日間にわたり、全8ステージ、総距離1,627キロメートルで行われる。
レースのルートは、青海省の西寧市、海東市、海南チベット族自治州、海北チベット族自治州を通過する。
世界12カ国から22チーム、計154人の選手が大会にエントリーしている。
