Caporal Laurent Manson died while on duty after his intervention vehicle left the road in Bouches-du-Rhône.
The Bouches-du-Rhône firefighters announced with great sadness the death of Caporal Laurent Manson, 38, a volunteer firefighter at the Saint-Étienne-du-Grès fire and rescue center.
The incident occurred while a prevention deployment was in place due to forest fire risk. The firefighter was refueling the CCF 4000 when the vehicle left the road under circumstances still to be clarified.
Upon the arrival of emergency services, the firefighter was in cardio-respiratory arrest. Despite rapid team intervention, he could not be revived, according to the SDIS 13 statement.
The departmental service extended its most sincere condolences to the corporal’s family, relatives and colleagues. A psychological support unit was set up for affected personnel.
