Al Alamein Airport records 57% jump in passenger traffic ahead of EIAS 2026

Al Alamein International Airport recorded a 57% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic to 266,600 as Egypt prepares to host the Egypt International Air Show this September.

The Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center reported the growth compared with 169,500 passengers in the same period of 2025. Aircraft movements rose 26% to 3,190 flights.

The airport now serves 15 airlines including Etihad Airways, flydubai, flynas, Air Cairo and Saudia. New carriers added for the summer season include TAROM, Enter Air, BH Air and Gulf Air.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is upgrading the facility to handle higher demand. The Egypt International Air Show is organised with the Ministry of Defence, the Egyptian Air Force and the Egyptian Space Agency.
