Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi reaffirmed full support for Kuwait’s security and stability during a meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Cairo. Both sides stressed deepening economic ties and coordinating on regional issues. They praised the longstanding historical relations between the two countries.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Cairo, who conveyed greetings from Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-Sisi rejected any violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, stressing that the security of Kuwait and other Arab states forms an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
Al-Sisi called for advancing bilateral relations, particularly in investment and trade, noting recent progress and urging further economic cooperation. The Kuwaiti minister expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in supporting Kuwait’s security and Gulf stability, and voiced his country’s interest in strengthening coordination with Cairo on regional issues.
In separate talks, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held political consultations with his Kuwaiti counterpart, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and aligning positions on regional and international developments. They emphasized boosting economic ties in infrastructure, real estate, industry, and energy, as well as trilateral opportunities in Africa. Both hope to convene the 14th session of the joint Egyptian-Kuwaiti committee before year-end.
The discussions addressed efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and US-Iran negotiations, underscoring the need to address Gulf states’ security concerns. Abdelatty briefed his counterpart on his recent Washington visit and a quadrilateral meeting in Antalya involving foreign ministers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye. The sides highlighted the importance of joint Arab action to preserve regional stability amid geopolitical uncertainty.
