Call of Duty movie will be set in Modern Warfare universe

Director Peter Berg confirmed that the upcoming Call of Duty movie will be set in the Modern Warfare universe. The revelation came during this weekend's Fanatics Fest.

The film was announced earlier this year and remains scheduled to premiere on 30 June 2028.

Berg shared the update on social media, stating that the movie is set in the Modern Warfare universe and will reach theaters on that date.

Activision head Rob Kostich, who is also a producer on the project, previously noted the careful approach to the adaptation. He said the team would only proceed if conditions were right and emphasized working with partner David Ellison to capture authenticity on a human level while adding epic scope.

No further details about the plot or cast have been released at this time.
