CD Projekt Red announced a Cyberpunk trading card game with WeirdCo, which quickly exceeded its modest Kickstarter funding target. Pledges rose from £1.3 million to over £2.7 million in short order.
CD Projekt Red revealed a Cyberpunk trading card game on March 17, 2026, developed in partnership with Seattle-based WeirdCo. The Kickstarter campaign set a goal of £75,174, but funding escalated rapidly—reaching £1.3 million at one point and soon surpassing £2.7 million as pledges continued to climb. WeirdCo describes its mission on its website as making games that 'remind us what it means to be human' and states it avoids using AI in development. This appears to be WeirdCo's first trading card game project. The initial set, titled Welcome to Night City, highlights characters from Cyberpunk 2077 including Johnny Silverhand, V, and Judy Álvarez, with delivery expected later in 2026. A follow-up set will feature characters from the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Pledge tiers begin at $49 for two pre-built starter decks and extend to $7999 for an extensive bundle containing eight starter decks, 1,944 booster packs, dice, rare and metal cards, play mats, and a binder. A how-to-play video demonstrates gameplay blending cards and dice in a manner similar to Magic: The Gathering. This comes amid Cyberpunk 2077's strong performance, having passed 35 million sales late last year following its Switch 2 release and the Phantom Liberty expansion. CD Projekt Red has a sequel in pre-production at its new Boston headquarters, set in a city described as 'like Chicago gone wrong'. Separately, the company is in full production on The Witcher 4, unlikely before 2027, with a reveal planned for Unreal's summer showcase.
