Staffing levels at Östersunds sjukhus remain tough as summer begins. Healthcare director Anna Granevärn says the situation is tougher than hoped, especially in the emergency department.
According to the region's status report the emergency department has faced high load resulting in longer processing times for patients. The past weekend saw high pressure but the situation is assessed as under control on weekdays.
Some units report high load and staff sickness absence. Infection care is described as fragile while anaesthesia, surgery and intensive care are deemed acceptable.
Work to fill schedules for weeks 30 to 32 continues. These weeks are highlighted as the most difficult and closure of the neonatal department may become relevant. Hospital management continues measures to improve staffing.
