Hulu began streaming an extended version of season 8, episode 10 of The Rookie on Monday. The supersized cut adds five and a half minutes of footage to the original network episode.
The extended episode appears in the extras section of the show's Hulu page. It includes subtle additions such as extra dialogue and tense exchanges but does not introduce major new storylines.
Showrunner Alexi Hawley said the extra time lets the episode breathe differently. He noted that one Harper scene feels more ominous in the extended cut due to wider shots and a bodycam perspective.
The cut also includes a previously unseen Chenford moment in which Tim expresses a bad feeling about the day ahead. Hawley said the scene was the hardest to cut from the network version.
Hawley added that season 9 of The Rookie is scheduled to begin shooting on Tuesday, July 21.
