Koei Tecmo aims for diverse portfolio beyond major titles

Koei Tecmo outlined plans for a balanced lineup of games in its latest financial report. The company seeks to release a mix of major and mid-range titles through fiscal year 2027 while avoiding overreliance on big-budget projects.

Koei Tecmo reported strong recent performance from titles including Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Nioh 3 and Pokémon Pokopia. The Japanese developer stated it will build a portfolio combining major console and PC games with smaller projects to maintain steady releases.

In the short to mid term the firm targets six major titles, 19 mid-range games and two already announced original online and mobile projects. It highlighted high expectations for Attack on Titan 3 and Wo Long 2 as its next triple-A releases while also developing an all-new action game with oriental-style aesthetics.

Portfolio balance includes ports, remasters and community-focused content. A Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster is set to launch in October alongside ongoing updates and paid DLC for Pokémon Pokopia developed with Game Freak and Nintendo.
