Man who laughed in court gets 40 years to life for double murder

David Huff received a sentence of 40 years to life in prison on Friday for killing his 11-year-old son and his girlfriend.

Huff, 44, admitted to shooting Jeremiah Huff and Yeraldith Tschudy with a Remington 870 Express 12-gauge shotgun on March 17, 2025. The killings occurred at his stepfather's home in New York, where he also fired at his stepfather before fleeing. An overnight manhunt ended the next morning when a neighbor spotted him nearby.
