Man/Woman/Chainsaw announce debut album Cannonball and single Nosedive

London-based band Man/Woman/Chainsaw have announced their debut album Cannonball, set for release on August 7. The group shared a new single, Nosedive, produced by Seth Evans and Margo Broom. Singer Emmie-Mae described the track as exploring longing for comfort and freedom in a relationship.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw, a six-piece art-punk band from London, confirmed the release of their long-awaited debut album Cannonball. Signed to Fiction Records late last year following the single Only Girl, the album will arrive in multiple physical formats on August 7. Pre-orders are now available through the label's channels. The tracklist features 11 songs, including Only Girl, Nosedive, Canyons, Goddamn, Lizard Man!, and Still Angry. Nosedive runs five-and-a-half minutes and blends synths, drums, and strings into a propulsive, DFA-influenced jam. Singer and keyboardist Emmie-Mae said: “It’s a song about longing for both comfort and freedom simultaneously in a relationship through the metaphor of being an injured bird needing shelter. We turned it into a danceable upbeat track, which made the tone shift throughout the song as though you find a way to pick yourself up and fly away.” The band follows their 2024 breakthrough EP Eazy Peazy, which NME praised for its fusion of grand strings, pianos, and riff-based rock chaos, awarding it four stars. Named among NME's 100 Essential Emerging Artists for 2025, they were lauded for their circus of orchestral grunge insanity. Man/Woman/Chainsaw recently completed initial tour dates and have UK shows in September and October, ending at London's Electric Ballroom on October 7. They will also perform at Latitude, Deer Shed, and Rock Werchter festivals this summer.
