Truck Violence signs to The Flenser for sophomore album

The Montreal post-hardcore band Truck Violence has signed with The Flenser for their second album, The Weathervane Is My Body, set for release on June 26. The group shared the lead single 'New Jesus' along with a music video directed by Kirill Sommer. The album reflects their adjustment to city life after moving from rural Alberta.

Truck Violence, formed by guitarist-banjoist Paul Lecours and singer-poet Karsyn Henderson, relocated from the prairies of Alberta to Montreal as teenagers. They later added bassist Chris Clegg and drummer Thomas Hart. The band's debut album, Violence, came out on Mothland in 2024 and received a vinyl rerelease via Southern Lord. Their new record captures the challenges of urban adaptation, according to band statements shared via Pitchfork on April 14.
