So this is a very personal collection… all my friends call me ‘I’ve Got Issues’.” He remains active on dating apps, channeling experiences into the designs as reported by Vogue. Models navigated a multi-roomed apartment set in lavender tones, reminiscent of Jacquemus’s spring 2020 collection. Figures clutched fur-edged knit cardigans to their chests, with visible skin marked by lipstick kisses, evoking mid-passion moments. The lineup included white lace skirts printed with ‘Situationship’ in scarlet Gothic font, garter-belt fastened skirts, organza ball skirts, frizzy fur coats, lattice lace boots, heeled pilgrim loafers, micro hot pants, ikat floral jacquard dresses, wool pencil dresses, and pom-pom accessories. Gong cited Sabrina Carpenter as inspiration: “She’s amazing. She’s spicy. She’s ok to make fun of herself. And also to meet her desire, and say ‘I want men.’ I just think that’s really cool.” Her influence softened his style with florals and cutesy elements. “I want the show to taste like sugar,” Gong said, “but also to make you wonder as you taste that sugar whether its flavor is hiding a razor blade.” The collection balanced desirousness and desirability in a 50-look presentation.
