A 54-year-old man from Massachusetts was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended with him swimming across a river to escape. Dominick Revell faces multiple charges including reckless driving and failure to stop for officers.
The pursuit began Monday morning in Bellingham when an officer attempted to pull over a blue Ford Ranger known to be driven by Revell. The vehicle did not stop, leading officers from both Bellingham and Franklin police departments on a chase that crossed town lines. Stop sticks deployed on Grove Street deflated the truck's passenger-side tires, yet Revell continued driving, damaging several mailboxes before stopping on Pond Street in Franklin. He then fled on foot, jumped a fence and swam across a small river into a wooded area. Police established a perimeter and called in drone operators and K-9 units from additional agencies. Revell, who has an extensive criminal record and was wanted on active warrants, was taken into custody without incident Tuesday evening in Franklin through coordinated efforts by the two departments.
