Parliament's committee has directed universities and colleges to provide full explanations on the use of public funds during reviews of Auditor-General reports.
The meeting took place on July 14 and involved the Public Investments Committee on Governance and Education. Institutions that appeared included Multimedia University and Naivasha Technical and Vocational College.
Kasipul MP Boyd Were stressed the need for full cooperation from accounting officers. He said audit queries should be addressed comprehensively.
Chairperson Dick Maungu noted that Auditor-General reports aim to check if public funds are used properly. Institutions must explain gaps and take corrective measures.
