National conference on information sovereignty concludes in Ethiopia

A national conference titled Information Sovereignty for Policy Freedom concluded in Addis Ababa after three days. The event, which opened earlier this week, drew more than 30,000 participants and showcased Ethiopia's progress in data development across key sectors.

Dr. Beker Shale, Director General of the Ethiopian Statistics Service, noted that the conference presented completed works and results in an exhibition format.

Data development efforts focused on four main areas: public health, agriculture studies, household expenditure surveys, and enterprise censuses. Officials said this work will greatly support reviews of national production growth.

State Minister for Planning and Development Bereket Fissehatsion highlighted that the gathering raised public awareness and knowledge about information.
