The leaders discussed current conflicts across Africa and stressed the need for diplomatic solutions. They also pledged to work toward reliable financing for African Union peace operations and called for structural reforms in international financial institutions.
They agreed to present a unified African position at G20 and G7 meetings on the effects of the Middle East conflict on African economies, food security, and energy supplies. The AU chairperson thanked Guterres for his contributions to peace and development on the continent.
