Nuclear power plays key role in Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy

Ethiopia's Nuclear Energy Commission chief Sandokan Debabe stated that nuclear power has an irreplaceable role in realizing the Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy. He discussed this with UNDP Representative Samuel Gebaydie Don in Addis Ababa, focusing on Ethiopia's nuclear roadmap and development programs. In Addis Ababa on Megabit 19, 2018 EC (around March 28, 2026), the Ethiopian Nuclear Energy Commission met with UNDP to strengthen strategic collaboration. Chief Commissioner Sandokan Debabe discussed Ethiopia's nuclear roadmap for peaceful purposes with Representative Samuel Gebaydie Don, focusing on joint efforts.

Sandokan Debabe noted that Ethiopia's growing economy requires reliable power supply, posing a survival challenge. He highlighted nuclear power's critical role in sustainably powering sectors like agriculture, health, research, and technology, and its irreplaceable importance for the Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy.
