Raspberry Pi 6 expected no earlier than 2028

Raspberry Pi CEO Eben Upton has confirmed that the next-generation single-board computer will not arrive until at least early 2028. The timeline stems from a four to four-and-a-half-year development cycle following the Pi 5 launch.

Upton made the remarks during a Reddit AMA last week alongside hardware and software engineering leads. He described the Pi 6 as featuring quantitative improvements such as a faster CPU, additional I/O, and greater DRAM bandwidth, without introducing new ports or an M.2 slot.
