Juan Bautista Mahiques assumed as Justice Minister on March 5, 2026, with Karina Milei's approval, and immediately requested resignations from heads of key agencies like the Anti-Corruption Office, the Financial Information Unit, and the General Justice Inspection. This aims to place loyal figures in sensitive areas, though the Treasury Prosecutor's Office remained untouched due to its delicacy in state litigations. The planning was conducted secretly between Karina Milei and Caputo, prioritizing judicial nominations requiring only a simple majority in the Senate.
