Police in Lolgorian, Trans Mara South Sub-county, killed two suspected armed gangsters and injured a third on Saturday morning. The operation followed intelligence from local residents about a gang linked to recent armed robberies and killings of businessmen in the area.
Trans Mara Sub-county Police Commander Eric Telewa said officers intercepted three suspects on a motorcycle. A chase ended in a gunfight. Two suspects died, one fled with gunshot wounds, and police recovered an AK-47 rifle believed used in earlier crimes.
One police officer suffered a gunshot wound to the foot and was taken to Tenwek Hospital, where he is reported stable. At Lolgorian Police Station, officers displayed the rifle and other items recovered during the operation.
