Two civilians injured by stray bullets during TNI training in Padang

Two civilians, including a Universitas Negeri Padang student, were hit by stray bullets on Tuesday afternoon near the campus. The incident occurred while soldiers from Yonif TP 897/Singgalang were conducting training.

The Kodam XX/Tuanku Imam Bonjol military command confirmed the incident. Public relations chief Colonel Kav Taufiq stated that two civilians were suspected of being hit by stray bullets around 17.05 WIB.

The UNP sociology student was shot in the thigh or leg near the rectorate area after celebrating exam results. A family member who was on campus was also affected.

The victims were taken to a private hospital and then transferred to Rumah Sakit dr. Reksodiwiryo for surgery to remove the projectile. The TNI is still investigating the origin of the bullets.
