Wimbledon to bring grass court experience to Central Park

The All-England Lawn Tennis Club will host a four-day Wimbledon-themed event in New York's Central Park from June 26 to June 29.

The event marks the fifth consecutive year Wimbledon has offered a fan experience in the United States. Organizers will transform the Wollman Rink into a temporary grass court maintained by SW19 ground staff. Marketing and Commercial Director Usama Al-Qassab said the initiative aims to give New York tennis fans a taste of the Championships. Activities include exhibition matches, opportunities for selected fans to play on the grass via public ballot, and traditional Wimbledon food and drink. The Wimbledon Court Invitational exhibition match is scheduled for the afternoon of June 26. Player names for the friendly doubles contest will be announced later. Separately, Wimbledon has released its qualifying entry lists and introduced Video Review technology for the first time at the main tournament in London.
