Felix Auger-Aliassime lost to Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals of the 2026 French Open. The Canadian fourth seed fell 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Cobolli advanced to his first Roland Garros semifinal.
The match took place under a closed roof in Paris after windy conditions affected the opening set. Auger-Aliassime took the first set but could not convert seven break points in the third set as Cobolli gained momentum. After the defeat Auger-Aliassime said he felt destroyed and admitted he was not the player he wanted to be. The world No. 6 reflected on a modest clay season and his impatience with his progress at age 26. Cobolli, the Italian 10th seed, reached the semifinals for the first time in his career. He will face fellow Italian Matteo Arnaldi, creating the first all-Italian men's Grand Slam semifinal.
