Book on Addis Ababa transformation launched

Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebe and Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh attended the launch of a book documenting the city's transformation.

Addis Ababa, May 15, 2026 (FMC) A book titled Addis as New, which documents the growth and transformation of Addis Ababa, was officially launched today.

At the launch ceremony, Mayor Adanech Abiebe said the book tells the story of fulfilling promises to the people through action. Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh stated that the transformation achieved in the city has been recorded in writing as a reference for history.

The book was co-authored by English writer Professor Simon Lee, Dr. Clement Katulushi, Ethiopian-born Dr. Hiruy Kumbi and their team. Senior government officials and international researchers attended the event.
