The Corporación Universitaria del Huila marked its 33 years of institutional life during an event held at the Auditorio Club Los Lagos in Neiva.
Directors, faculty, students, alumni and local authorities took part in the celebration. The institution received recognitions from the Cámara de Comercio del Huila and the Alcaldía de Neiva for its contribution to education and regional development.
Council president Jairo Toro Rodríguez recalled the university’s beginnings and stated: “Today we celebrate 33 years of dreams that found a path”. He noted that the entity now serves more than 7,400 students and has over 12,000 alumni.
Rector Óscar Eduardo Chávarro highlighted current challenges in higher education. He mentioned the rollout of virtual and hybrid modalities and progress toward high-quality accreditation. The ceremony included a blessing by Monsignor Marco Antonio Merchán Ladino.
