Indiana man gets 20 years for forcing family into truck at gunpoint

Robert Vanatta was sentenced to 20 years in prison and two years of probation for a domestic violence incident that occurred in March 2025.

Robert Vanatta, 30, was convicted on 14 felony counts including criminal confinement, intimidation, criminal recklessness, strangulation, domestic battery and neglect of a dependent. Johnson County Circuit Court Judge Roesener handed down the sentence on May 21 after a trial that ended in March.
