Le Sserafim is ready to share a new message about facing fear through its second studio album. The group will release Pureflow pt. 1 at 1 p.m. Friday.
Le Sserafim explained the album's theme during an interview Monday at a cafe in Seoul's Seongdong District. Member Huh Yun-jin said, “When we first debuted, the message was that we were strong because we had no fear. Now it's that we're strong because we faced our fears.”
Group leader Kim Chae-won will sit out promotional activities due to a neck injury and did not attend the interview. The album features 11 new songs across genres from Latin house to punk, with title track “BOOMPALA” sampling the global hit “Macarena.”
Huh noted, “Change the way you look at fear and it might just turn out to be an illusion. We wanted to put something that could feel dark on the surface inside a song that makes you want to dance.” Kazuha added that the song reminds listeners that hard times will not last forever.
