The National Water Commission reported that two low pressure systems in the Pacific have a 60 percent chance of becoming tropical storms this week.
The National Meteorological Service is monitoring a low pressure system 595 kilometers south of Técpan de Galeana, Guerrero. This system, linked to tropical wave 18, has a 60 percent probability of reaching tropical cyclone category in the next 48 hours and 90 percent in seven days.
A second low pressure system could develop and affect Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán and Oaxaca. It has a 60 percent probability of becoming a cyclone in the next seven days. If formed, the systems would receive the names Elida and Fausto.
CONAGUA detailed that these systems will cause very strong to intense rains in western and southern states between July 13 and 16. So far the hurricane season in the Pacific has not generated any cyclone.
