Motilal Oswal shares fall 7 percent despite profit rise

Motilal Oswal Financial Services posted higher quarterly earnings but its stock price dropped 7 percent. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,273 crore for Q1 FY27.

Revenue from operations rose over 25 percent year-on-year to Rs 3,426 crore. Operating profit after tax reached a record Rs 1,513 crore.

The asset management business profit increased 73 percent to Rs 245 crore. Annual recurring revenue in the wealth management segment grew 42 percent. Assets under management rose 31 percent.

The results covered the quarter ended June 2026. The company is listed on Indian stock exchanges.
