Ohio couple sentenced in death of father defending son

Marvin Atkins and Ann Marie Clayton received prison terms this week after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the 2025 killing of Norman Duncan in Cleveland.

Atkins and Clayton, both 36, were sentenced on May 20 following a guilty plea entered on May 14. Atkins received 15 to 20 and a half years in prison while Clayton was given three years. The couple had attacked Duncan after a fight broke out between their son and Duncan's 12-year-old boy on April 14 2025.
