Philippines receives 21,000 metric tons of LPG from United States

The Philippines has received a shipment of 21,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas from the United States to support energy supply during a national emergency. The cargo arrived on May 30 and forms part of government efforts to stabilize fuel reserves.

The Philippine National Oil Company confirmed the delivery in a statement. The LPG, consisting of equal parts refrigerated propane and butane, originated from Enterprise Port in Texas. It was procured through Trafigura Pte. Ltd. on April 13 and stored at the South Pacific Inc. Terminal in Calaca, Batangas.

The shipment supports the Department of Energy’s Emergency Energy Security Program. PNOC coordinated operational requirements and safety standards ahead of arrival. The fuel will help maintain inventory levels and address potential supply issues in key areas.

PNOC senior vice president Graciela Barleta stated that the delivery shows concrete actions by the DOE and PNOC to strengthen fuel reserves and ensure continuous LPG availability during the ongoing national energy emergency.
