Police to investigate suspected airgun damage to window in Yuen Long flat

A 64-year-old woman reported suspected airgun damage to her window at a flat in Long Ping Estate, Yuen Long. Police have classified the case as criminal damage and assigned it to the Yuen Long district crime squad.

The woman reported the case to police at about 12.30pm on Thursday. She told officers she found a 2mm steel pellet on her bed on Monday but did not suspect anything at first. On Wednesday she noticed a roughly 2mm hole and cracks in the window glass and believed a steel pellet fired from outside caused the damage.

Police classified the incident as criminal damage and handed it to the Yuen Long district crime squad. District councillor Lam Wai-ming has flagged similar cases at the Long Ping Estate. One social media user reported on Threads that her boyfriend’s flat at the estate had its window shot through, with cracks in the glass and a BB gun pellet found on the bed inside.
