PSN leak reveals PS5 version of Myst remake

A leak on the PlayStation Network has indicated that a PS5 version of the 2020 Myst remake is forthcoming. The original 1993 adventure game, developed by Cyan, became a landmark title on PC and later on PS1 in 1996. This non-VR edition follows its 2025 release on other platforms.

The PlayStation Network recently saw the upload of PS5 trophies for the 2020 remake of Myst, a game not yet available on PS5 or PSN. This development suggests an imminent release, as trophies are typically added close to launch. The remake, initially released as a VR title on Quest in 2020, received a non-VR update in 2025 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It now appears headed to PS5, with a possible PS4 version as well, sometime in 2026.

Myst originated in 1993 from developer Cyan and quickly became one of the best-selling PC games of the 1990s. It arrived on PS1 in 1996, where it was hailed as one of the console's top titles, though it gained its greatest fame on personal computers. As a pioneering adventure game, Myst is frequently recognized as one of the most influential video games ever made.

A similar PSN trophy leak occurred the previous week for the remake of Riven, Myst's successor, pointing to its own upcoming PS5 arrival. The separate trophy uploads for each game imply they will be released individually rather than bundled. The Myst trophy list includes a Platinum Trophy, viewable online.

While the remake preserves the original's legacy, its appeal today may depend on nostalgia, as the innovative elements that defined it in 1993 have become commonplace. Official announcements for the PS5 version have not yet surfaced.
