Over 300 public prosecutors from across Brazil will gather in Pirenópolis (GO) from April 8 to 10 for the 24th Congress of the Environmental Public Prosecutor's Office. The event will address environmental protection, climate change, and public policies. The program features panels, lectures, and presentations of nationally selected projects.
The city of Pirenópolis, near the Federal District, will host the 24th Congress of the Environmental Public Prosecutor's Office from April 8 to 10. Organized by the Brazilian Association of Members of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Goiás, the event will bring together over 300 participants to discuss challenges in environmental protection and climate change.
The program includes panels on environmental licensing and public policy implementation, as well as lectures and project presentations. These projects, selected through a national call, address waste management, disposal of seized materials, and responses to extreme weather events.
Highlights include the awarding of the José Maria da Silva Júnior Environmental Jurisprudence Prize, book launches, and integration activities. Organizers anticipate the congress will enhance coordination among public institutions, researchers, and civil society for environmental protection strategies in Brazil.
