The Pittsburgh Steelers opened their 2026 rookie minicamp on Friday as the team’s 10 draft picks took the field for the first time. Three of those rookies signed contracts on the opening day.
Rookie minicamp runs through Sunday at the team’s facility. All 10 draft selections plus several undrafted free agents and tryout players participated in the sessions, which mark the first on-field work for the new class under the coaching staff. Quarterback Drew Allar worked exclusively with the group during the practices. The Steelers also signed wide receiver and return specialist Kaden Wetjen, defensive lineman Gabriel Rubio and safety Robert Spears-Jennings to their rookie contracts on Friday. Wetjen’s deal is valued at roughly 5.5 million dollars with a 1.1 million dollar signing bonus, while Rubio and Spears-Jennings received contracts worth approximately 4.63 million and 4.55 million dollars respectively. The team released the full minicamp roster, which includes several veterans and 12 tryout players, along with jersey numbers for the draft class ahead of the weekend sessions.
